OUR COMPANY HISTORY HAS CONSTANTLY EVOLVED SINCE 1960
With over fifty years’ experience within the eyewear sector, Demenego now ranks among the most active and enterprising Italian companies within the eyewear industry.
Attention paid to design, creativity and innovation, the search for a balance between aesthetics and functionality have all contributed to the creation of a range of products with a unique style and these have made it possible for us to develop strategic paths in collaboration with prestigious brands within the fields of sport and fashion. As a result of all this, we have created exclusive collections produced under a global licence, alongside product lines bearing our own brand.

This has allowed Demenego to win over customers both in Italy and world-wide, by developing its commercial presence in more than 80 Countries together with a network of 17 specialised sales outlets located throughout the entire Triveneto area.
Beppino De Menego was born in Calalzo di Cadore, the birthplace of eyewear and lenses; he started working within the eyeglass lens sector at a very early age as an employee for Franco Cian in Domegge di Cadore and then for Bonazzola, an important manufacturing company in Calalzo di Cadore, gaining excellent skills in all production sectors.
RIGHT FROM THE START, BEPPINO SHOWED GREAT APTITUDE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND A FEW YEARS LATER, IN 1960, HE SET UP HIS OWN BUSINESS BY FOUNDING LAL LAVORAZIONE ARTIGIANA LENTI S.N.C. IN CALALZO DI CADORE (BELLUNO, ITALY) MANUFACTURING GLASSES AND SUNGLASSES TOGETHER WITH HIS BROTHER AND SISTER.
AT THE END OF THE 1970S HE CREATED A NETWORK OF SUBCONTRACTORS TO WHICH HE LOANED EQUIPMENT AND RAW MATERIALS TO CARRY OUT EXCLUSIVE MANUFACTURING ACTIVITIES ON BEHALF OF THE PARENT COMPANY, WHICH FOCUSED EVEN MORE ON THE MARKETING OF THESE PRODUCTS. DURING THE SAME PERIOD, HE FOUNDED METALMARWEN S.R.L. FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF METAL FRAME GLASSES IN ORDER TO OFFER ITS CUSTOMERS A COMPLETE RANGE OF PRODUCTS.
BEPPINO LEFT THE COMPANY HE FOUNDED WITH HIS BROTHER AND SISTER TO ESTABLISH A NEW COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE, DE MENEGO DEA S.R.L, TOGETHER WITH HIS WIFE AND SONS, WHICH DEALT WITH THE MARKETING OF GLASS LENSES, PAYING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO FOREIGN MARKETS; SOON AFTERWARDS, THE COMPANY ALSO STARTED MANUFACTURING BOTH METAL AND PLASTIC EYEWEAR FRAMES.
ON 5TH MARCH 1982, THE CURRENT COMPANY DEMENEGO SRL UNIPERSONALE WAS FOUNDED BY BEPPINO DE MENEGO WHO CONSTANTLY WORKED ALONGSIDE AND WAS SUPPORTED BY HIS WIFE AND SONS; THE COMPANY MOVED TO A NEW AND MUCH LARGER BUILDING IN WHICH HE ESTABLISHED BOTH THE OFFICES AND WAREHOUSES WHILE CONTINUING TO USE THE OLD PREMISES OF THE ARTISANAL ENTERPRISE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF METAL FRAME EYEWEAR UNDER THE NEW COMPANY NAME DA RIN MARIA LUISA S.N.C.
THE CONTINUALLY-INCREASING EYEWEAR SALES LED TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF SPECIALISATION WITHIN THE EYEWEAR FRAME SECTOR AND TO THE CONSEQUENT OPENING OF A NEW PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT.
DM IMMAGINE S.R.L. WAS FOUNDED WITH THE AIM OF CARRYING OUT MARKETING ACTIVITIES OF DESIGNER EYEWEAR UNDER THE NEW “JOHN LENNON” LICENCE AS WELL AS OTHER, RECENTLY-ACQUIRED PRODUCT LINES THROUGH A DEDICATED TELEPHONE NETWORK, WHICH WAS CONSIDERED EXTREMELY INNOVATIVE AT THAT TIME. THE AUTOMATION OF THE WAREHOUSE AND DISPATCH DEPARTMENT WAS THE NEW FEATHER IN THE COMPANY’S CAP.
ALUSTYLE S.R.L., FOUNDED WITH ITS OFFICES IN SAN VITO AL TAGLIAMENTO (PORDENONE, ITALY) WAS SPECIALISED IN THE MANUFACTURING AND ANODISING OF ALUMINIUM EYEWEAR USING STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT, TOGETHER WITH DM TECHNOLOGY SRL IN FORNI DI SOPRA AND DM LUX S.R.L. IN LOZZO DI CADORE FOR THE GALVANISATION AND COLOURING OF METAL EYEWEAR FRAMES; SUBSEQUENTLY, THERE WERE PARTNERSHIPS WITH DM EXTREME S.R.L. AND FINILUX S.R.L. WHICH DEALT WITH THE FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY OF ITEMS MANUFACTURED IN THE COMPANIES SITUATED IN CALALZO AND FORNI.
THE COMPANY FOCUSED ALL ITS BUSINESS ACTIVITIES ON THE WHOLESALE AND RETAIL MARKETING OF EYEWEAR, ABOVE ALL ABROAD BUT ALSO IN ITALY, BEARING ITS OWN BRAND AS WELL AS OTHERS UNDER THE FOLLOWING LICENCES: JOHN LENNON, DUNLOP, LUCIANO SOPRANI, TONINO LAMBORGHINI, ROCCOBAROCCO, THINK PINK, CARACTERE, SBK SUPERBIKE AND ENRICO COVERI.
THE COMPANY’S FIRST RETAIL OPTICIAN’S STORE OPENED IN THE HISTORIC HEADQUARTERS IN CALALZO DI CADORE (BELLUNO, ITALY), SELLING DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC. AFTER THIS FIRST PILOT STORE, OTHER PRESTIGIOUS DEMENEGO SALES OUTLETS OPENED IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS THROUGHOUT THE TRIVENETO AREA.
DEMENEGO HAS OPENED THE ONLINE STORE.
DEMENEGO AND VAM INVESTMENTS, INVESTMENT HOLDING OF PRIVATE EQUITY SPECIALIZED IN BUYOUT AND GROWTH CAPITAL, HAVE COMPLETED A BUYOUT TRANSACTION THAT HAS SEEN VAM ACQUIRING AN 80% STAKE ALONGSIDE THE DE MENEGO FAMILY TO GROW THE FUTURE BUSINESS.
DEMENEGO HAS SEEN THE OPENING OF A SET OF SALES STORES LOCATED IN STRATEGIC AREAS. A NETWORK OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT PLACES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AT THE HEART OF ITS BUSINESS ACTIVITIES.
